Find out more at: http://www.wanderlust.co.uk/discover-belize
Walking through this Central American country is like walking through time. From its glittering shores to its dense rainforests, people have lived here for thousands of years.

Today, Belize is a vibrant and exciting mix of backgrounds and cultures.
These English-speaking towns are relaxed and friendly, but there’s no urgency or stress here. It’s a diverse explosion of colour and joy. A place where just going to the market can bring a smile to your face.

The Archives Department receives and conserves documents and audiovisual records that are produced mostly by government ministries and departments. It holds custody of historic documents and newspapers dating back to the late 1700’s. The most recent piece of instrument that was placed in its care was the Declaration of Independence, which was handed over by the Speaker of the House and the Clerk of the National Assembly a couple months ago. Today News Five’s Marion Ali paid a visit to the Belize Archives and Records Service to bring you a bit about the work they do. Here’s that story.

These English-speaking towns are relaxed and friendly, but there’s no urgency or stress here. It’s a diverse explosion of colour and joy. A place where just going to the market can bring a smile to your face.
This diversity is reflected in the country’s cuisine that bursts with taste and flavour. With Mayan, Caribbean and Mexican influences, food is a way of life here, and wandering the streets can be a culinary adventure.
In the more rural parts of Belize, you can experience the food of the Mayas, and learn how to make the best chocolate you will ever eat.
Organic chocolate and bananas are all part of a blossoming food economy and travel experience.
Belize is changing quickly. Its economy and accessibility is growing, and it’s becoming a dream destination for visitors looking for reef, rainforest, and fascinating culture.
But no matter what you are looking for, it’s safe to say that Belize offers the fun side of life.
